Hey there! It’s Karin here, currently 32 weeks pregnant and incredibly excited about meeting my baby girl in just 8 weeks. But today, I want to share something powerful with you that’s been on my mind lately: how to become the person who gets what they want in life.

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to effortlessly attract success, while others struggle despite working just as hard? The difference often isn’t about tactics or strategies—it’s about who they’ve become.

Start With Who You Want to Become

The first step to getting what you want is getting crystal clear on who you need to become to have it. This is where most people go wrong—they focus on having without first focusing on being.

Ask yourself: If you already had the life you want, how would you think, act, and feel every day?

For example, if you want to become financially successful:

  • How would a wealthy person start their day?
  • What decisions would they make about their time?
  • What language would they use when talking about money?

When you start living as if you’re already that person, you naturally start attracting the circumstances that match that identity.

Take a moment right now to write down three qualities of your “next level self” and start practicing them today—not tomorrow, not next week, TODAY.

Change Your Language, Change Your Life

The words you speak to yourself shape your reality more powerfully than you might realize. If you’re constantly saying things like “I hope I’ll make money” or “I hope this works out,” you’re programming your mind for uncertainty.

Think about professional athletes in championship games. They don’t say, “I hope we win”—they say “I AM a champion” before they ever hold the trophy.

When you catch yourself using weak language, immediately replace it with powerful statements about who you want to become. Instead of “I hope I can,” say “I will” or even better, “I am.”

“Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what you tell it to expect. When you decide to have something, it’s as good as done—as long as your thoughts, feelings, and actions align with that decision.”

Upgrade Your Daily Habits

Want to know who you truly believe you are? Look at your daily routine. Your habits are a direct reflection of your identity.

If you say you want to be wealthy but spend hours watching TV instead of educating yourself or building your business, there’s a disconnect. If you claim to prioritize health but never exercise and eat poorly, your actions reveal your true beliefs.

The good news? You can deliberately reshape your identity by changing your habits. Start small—choose just one daily habit that aligns with your desired identity:

  • Want to be a successful entrepreneur? Read business books for 30 minutes each morning.
  • Want to be healthy? Start with a 10-minute walk daily.
  • Want to be financially savvy? Track your expenses every evening.

Small, consistent actions build a new identity much more effectively than occasional grand gestures.

Surround Yourself With the Right Energy

We become like the people we spend the most time with. It’s not just about what they say—it’s their energy, their mindset, their beliefs that subtly influence us.

Look around at your five closest friends or colleagues. Are they:

  • Focused on problems or solutions?
  • Taking action or making excuses?
  • Growing or staying comfortable?

This might be the hardest part of your transformation, but sometimes you need to make the difficult choice to distance yourself from people who hold you back, even if they’re not doing it intentionally.

I’d rather spend time alone learning and growing than be surrounded by people who drain my energy and discourage my dreams. And when you start becoming the person who gets what they want, you’ll naturally attract others on the same path.

Act Like You Already Have It

This might sound like “fake it till you make it,” but it’s much deeper than that. It’s about living from the end result.

When you act as if you already have what you want, you align your subconscious mind with that reality. This isn’t about pretending—it’s about embodying that future version of yourself now.

Have you ever noticed that when you decide to buy a certain car, you suddenly see that car everywhere? Your brain starts noticing what you focus on. The same principle applies to opportunities, connections, and resources that can help you achieve your goals.

When you act as if you’re already successful, you become more alert to the opportunities that have been around you all along.

Be Patient With the Process

Success isn’t an overnight phenomenon, even when it looks that way from the outside. Behind every “overnight success” are years of preparation, learning, and growth.

I’m sharing this because it took me years to figure these principles out, and I’m still working on applying them consistently. Right now, I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my first child, and while I have fears about labor and delivery, I choose to say “I’m excited” instead of “I’m scared.”

Change your perspective from “this is taking forever” to “I’m building something amazing,” and watch how your experience transforms.

Your Turn to Transform

Becoming the person who gets what they want isn’t complicated, but it does require consistent effort and awareness. Start by:

  1. Getting clear on who you want to become
  2. Shifting your language to match that identity
  3. Upgrading one daily habit at a time
  4. Surrounding yourself with the right people
  5. Acting as if you already have what you want

The beautiful thing about this approach is that you don’t have to wait for external circumstances to change before you can feel successful. You can begin embodying your ideal self today, and watch as your outer world begins to reflect your inner transformation.

What version of yourself are you ready to become? I’d love to hear in the comments! And if this post resonated with you, please share it with someone who might need this message.

Remember, everything you want is already available to you—you just need to become the person who receives it.
