In this post, I want to walk you through 5 crucial questions to ask yourself to discover your hidden potential and break through whatever’s been holding you back from living your best life.
Question 1: What Holds You Back?
The first step is to get radically honest with yourself. What are the things that are stopping you from moving forward? Maybe it’s fear, lack of resources, or just feeling unsure about your next steps.
Think about the times you’ve felt the most stuck, and really examine what was going on. Remember, you’re the only one who will see these answers, so don’t hold back! The more truthful you can be, the more clarity you’ll gain.
Question 2: Where Do You Feel Resistance?
Next, pinpoint the areas where you feel the most uncomfortable or resistant. Is there something that’s keeping you trapped in your comfort zone? Perhaps you struggle with taking risks, making decisions, or putting yourself out there.
Identifying these pain points is so powerful because it shines a light on the exact things you need to work through to grow. Lean into that discomfort – that’s where the magic happens!
Question 3: What Keeps Bothering You?
Now, let’s look at the persistent problems and frustrations that keep cropping up in your life. What are the things that you keep saying you’ll do, but never actually follow through on?
Maybe you tell yourself you’ll start working out every morning, but then you get sidetracked checking emails or scrolling social media. Or you have a brilliant business idea but you keep procrastinating on making it happen.
Noticing these patterns is the first step to breaking them. When you’re aware of what’s not working, you can start implementing new habits and routines to create the change you want to see.
Question 4: What Goal Feels Out of Reach?
We all have those big, audacious dreams that light us up inside, but can also feel completely overwhelming. What’s the goal or vision that you desperately want to achieve, but keeps feeling just beyond your grasp?
It’s so normal to have doubts and “what if” thoughts come up when you’re going after something big. Fears like “what if I fail?” or “what if I’m not good enough?” are totally common.
But what if you flipped the script? What if it DOES work? Why wouldn’t it? When you focus on the possibility instead of the fear, you’ll find yourself feeling motivated and energized to take the necessary steps, even if you have to start small.
Question 5: Where Do You Spend Your Energy?
This is perhaps the most important question of all. Where are you currently directing your time, focus and attention?
If you’re pouring all your energy into activities that aren’t aligned with your goals and values – like watching TV for hours, engaging in negative self-talk, or hanging out with people who drain you – then it’s no wonder you’re struggling to create the results you want.
But if you consciously choose to invest your energy into your passions, personal growth, and relationships that uplift you, you’ll be amazed at how quickly your life can change.
